How It Works
Invisalign is a set of clear aligners used to move teeth into their proper positions. Your orthodontic specialist will take molds and photos of your teeth to send to Invisalign, where your aligner trays will be made. Each set is made to be worn for 2 weeks. At 6 weeks, a quick visit to your DHA orthodontic office ensures everything is on schedule. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are barely noticeable. Invisalign is worn 22 hours of the day, only taking them out to eat, drink and brush and floss your teeth.
- Aligners are custom fitted to your teeth, so they are extremely smooth on your tongue, cheeks and lips.
- You can remove the aligners to eat and drink. This makes them easy to keep clean, and also means you can brush and floss your teeth with ease.
- No headgear is ever required, and there is no need for rubber bands or springs.
- Many Invisalign cases are completed within one to two years, depending on the intensity of the case.
Candidates for Invisalign
Invisalign can help adults and teens alike who have mild to moderate orthodontic correction needed. Those with crowding or spacing benefit greatly. Invisalign is also fantastic for young adults who are active in sports or those playing musical instruments. Many patients experience an increase in self-confidence as a result of their Invisalign treatment.
Once you have decided to move forward with orthodontic treatment of any kind, it is important to reach out to your DHA dentist. He or she will give you an orthodontic referral, which teams you up with one of our professional and friendly orthodontists. They will schedule a no charge consultation for you.
